Individual times will be posted on Nominate nearer the event and are the official timings, overriding anything shown here or in the printed programme.

EvA80 and EvA95 courses will be open for walking from 6pm Friday evening.
NB The EvA80 and EvA95 courses will be the same except for fence heights, which may help those with busy schedules.

Cross Country - Extreme Heat
The organising committee has decided that the due to weather conditions the extreme heat policy has been activated and the Cross Country timetable will be amended as follows.
The organising committee have not made this change lightly and apologise for any changes to your times, however, the welfare of horses and riders is our primary consideration and therefore the classes which put most strain on athletes have been moved to cooler parts of the day in accordance with FEI and EA extreme heat policies. We thank you for your understanding.

Dressage Tests
The following Dressage tests will be used for the 2022 event. There are some new tests for this year so please be sure to learn the correct test!

Cross Country Information
Due to COVID restrictions, printed cross country maps will not be available from the secretary this year. Please print your own map ahead of time.

Entries
Please bear in mind that the safety or horses and riders is our paramount consideration when setting timings and class sizes and unfortunately we do have limited space both for competitors parking/camping as well as running multiple classes in parallel.
Riders on the reserve or wait list will be emailed if a place comes up for them. They have 48 hours to accept the place. If nothing is heard it will be offered to the next person. Once accepted the refund policy applies i.e. scratching after the refunds as per the policy clearly stated on nominate. If Riders have made other plans or deem it is too late for them to accept the place then they will still receive a full refund. Riders can withdraw waitlisted horses at any time for a full refund.
Riders who are not offered a place will receive a full refund of all money for the horse on the wait list.
Please note the following:
- No substitutions will be made after midnight on the Wednesday before the competition commences.
- All riders must print their own back numbers and provide their own back number holders.
General Information
General Notes
- When planning your trip to Tonimbuk, remember that it is a weekend and the Monash Freeway gets very congested.
- Due to scratchings and substitutions, times printed in the program may differ from those posted on Nominate. Nominate times are the correct times.
Medical / Equipment
- It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure the Next of Kin (NOK) details on Nominate are not only CORRECT but are also RELEVANT for this competition. No NOKs out of the country please.
- All riders with a relevant medical condition (see rule 523) need to fill in a “Medical Information for Armbands” form and wear a medical armband with this information visibly on their person.
- It is the rider’s responsibility to ensure their helmets comply with the helmet standards which can be found at http://www.equestrian.org.au/news/helmet-regulations-updated
- Helmet Cameras: Based on the latest advice, the organising committee have decided NOT to allow helmet cameras at this year's event. This is for safety reasons due to the possiblity of a camera compromising the safety profile of the helmet.
Catering
Public catering will be available next to the car park.
Hot weather policy
Tonimbuk Horse Trials adheres to Equestrian Australia's hot weather policy.
In the event of extreme heat, summer wear will be permitted. An announcement will be made by the secretary notifying competitors in this case.
Dogs
Well behaved dogs are welcome at the event but MUST be kept on a leash at all times.
Any dogs found wondering free will be confined and a release fee will be payable.
Please note that dogs are not allowed in the indoor arenas under any circumstances or at any time throughout the event. This is for the safety of riders and horses.
Dogs are not permitted on the Cross Country Course when in use.
Toilets / Showers
Toilets and showers are available to the side of indoor arena 1 (Show Jumping ring). Access is available 24 hours throughout the event.
Disabled access
There is a disabled access ramp between the two indoor arenas
Stabling / Yards / Clearing of muck
- All manure must be placed in the manure pits around the venue.
- Straw is not permitted to be used for bedding in the stables or yards.
- Shavings are not supplied, they can be purchased locally, see below for details.
- For the safety and comfort of all competitors and visitors, please ensure you clear up after your horse in all common areas including all tracks, car parks, yards, stables and warm up arenas.
- Please ensure you leave stables clean when you leave.
Shaving / Feed orders
Feed orders can be made through our preferred local produce store and CCI2* class sponsor.
Please have a credit card handy to pay over the phone for your order.

Ice
Ice will be available by pre-order only via Nominate at $5 per bag and can be collected from the secretary's desk.
Fuel
The Caltex service station on the corner of Princes Highway and Tonimbuk Road has closed. Fuel is available at the Caltex Service Station, Longwarry. (10 mins towards Warragul)
Media / Photographers
Equestrian Victoria has reviewed its Media Policy and its process for applications for Media Accreditations. Equestrian Victoria now requires all events to enforce the media policy and that all event photographers must have media accreditation. Photographers can now apply online through the EV form (here) or download the paperwork and post it to the EV office. (Documents can be found under the Policies and Bylaws page) All photographers (new or current) that want to attend future EV events must re-apply for accreditation either via the online or paper form. There are no fees payable on application.
Tonimbuk International Horse Trials - Code of Conduct
- It is considered a privilege that you are allowed to bring your dog to the venue. You must keep your dog under effective control and on a leash at all times. Dogs are not permitted on the Cross Country Course when in use. Dogs are NEVER allowed in the Indoor Arenas.
- All manure must be placed in the manure pits around the venue.
- Approved Safety Helmets must be worn at all times when riding
- Horse abuse will not be tolerated. Abuse of a horse using natural riding aids or artificial aids (e.g. whips, spurs, etc) will not be tolerated. TEC will use the EA Abuse of Horse (Article 142 of the FEI and EA rules) as its guidelines for defining abuse, but will not be limited by these definitions.
- If a horse is found with blood inflicted by overuse of whip, spurs or the like, owners and horses will be asked to leave the event, and may be refused further use of the venue.
- Riding of horses bareback is prohibited
- Riding of rugged and/or unbridled horses is prohibited
- Any person may lead a maximum of one horse while mounted, and a maximum of two whilst unmounted.
- Stallions must at all times be in the control of a person aged sixteen (16) years or more
- Horses are not permitted on the footbridge between the car park and stables
- Horses are not permitted near pedestrian door ways
- Bicycles are not permitted in the Indoor Arenas or any stable block. Approved helmets must be worn at all times.
- Bicycles are not permitted near doors designated as public entrances or exits
- Motor Cyclist riders must wear approved safety helmets and hold the appropriate licence
- Speed limits must be adhered to at all times, the speed limit at Tonimbuk Equestrian Centre is walking pace
- Power leads must not be on the ground or over roadways, unless covered by appropriate material. Power leads must not be joined.
- Please observe all signs at the venue
- Horses must be tied in a safe manner. Horses must not be tied to unattached floats, wheelie bins or any fences etc.
- Entry and Exit doors to Indoors Arenas are not be obstructed at any time.
- Report any incidents, damages or safety concerns to the event secretary immediately.
- Campfires are not permitted at any time
- Competitors and visitors who do not comply with these guidelines may be asked to leave and refused future use of the venue.
